The HERACLES Group, faithful to its commitment to contribute directly and substantially to the real needs of local communities, contributes to the sustainable recovery of Northern Evia, which was affected by last summer’s fires, boosting the productive activity of more than 300 local bees.
This initiative is part of the multifaceted Corporate Social Responsibility program “One more feat” and specifically in the priority areas for nature protection and strengthening entrepreneurship, as the company states in a relevant announcement.
In collaboration with the Beekeeping Cooperative of Istiaia “I Kypseli”, the HERACLES Group undertakes to provide food for about 500 million bees for the next 6 months. The first delivery of bee food, which fully covers the increased needs for the winter period, took place at an event in the presence of the MP of N.D. Mr. Th. Zempili, representatives of the Municipalities of Istiaia – Edipsos and Agia Anna – Limni – Mantoudi as well as representatives of the local authorities and beekeepers of the area, at the premises of the Cooperative.
The donation of 150 tons of bee food is part of the wider awareness program “Bee Our Hero” of the HERACLES Group for the protection of the bee and the support of the beekeeping industry. With the program “Bee Our Hero” and the targeted actions that will follow under its roof, the Group proves once again its long-standing commitment to the protection and conservation of biodiversity, taking a vital role in reducing the impact of climate change but and the transition to a more sustainable tomorrow for all.
