The heavy rains of the previous days caused a landslide in the San Clemente community of Californiaforcing the authorities to issue an evacuation order for the houses on the edge of the mountainside.

She likened her moment to an earthquake landslide, 41-year-old CJ Smith, whose home is one of those in immediate danger. He admitted that the owners were aware of the risk in the event of a landslide. “The view is beautiful. We thought it was worth the risk”he said.

Storms on the west coast of the United States have caused significant problems, especially in Orange County, California.

Although the rains have stopped today, forecasters are warning that another storm is expected in the region next week.
