Banners, screams and little girls camped out on the red carpet. If last year they were Harry Styles And Timothee Chalamet the most awaited stars (from the very young) of the Venice Film Festival, this year it was the turn of Jacob Elordi, the australian actor launched by Euphoria. Six foot ninety-six tall, former rugby player, Elordi took over the Elvis baton from Austin Butler (current boyfriend of his ex, Kaia Gerber, but that’s another story). He arrived at the Lido as co-star of PriscillaSofia Coppola’s biopic that tells the tormented story between Elvis and Priscilla through her eyes, fourteen years old for most of the film.
The actor paraded along with the rest of the cast, thanks to an agreement between the SAG-AFTRA union and the independent productions that have already adjusted their standards to the workers’ demands. The red carpet was thus saved. And the more the fans screamed his name, the more Jacob signed autographs and made himself available for a selfie. After all, he said, he always looks good in the midst of his audience. Jacob in no time he understood the rules of the game and now he’s having some fun at his debut in Venice.
