Luca Parrot, the “curious cook” publishes his first book: a volume of recipes that is an invitation to rediscover the pleasure of cooking and eating good things. Is titled Welcome to the Parrot house (Vallardi) and proposes 150 dishes «to bring – as he himself writes – joy on the table».
Luca Parrot, on the other hand, he has been doing it for years: a pioneer of the network, he is the founder of Cookaround (which was one of the first sites dedicated to cooking in Italy) and has a YouTube channel and social profiles (on Instagram @CasaPapagallo and on Facebook www.facebook.com/lucapappagalloofficial) followed by thousands of followers who love him precisely for his genuine, simple, enjoyable style. He has his own way, free from frills and superstructures, to tell with a smile how they are prepared dishes always full of taste which makes you want to get in the kitchen and taste everything, maybe even licking your fingers as soon as the dish is ready (now it’s a kind of trademark).
«I approached the kitchen thanks to Nonna Editta, an extraordinary woman who taught me to dream with her delicacies and her stories», says Luca Pappagallo. «In my house – he continues – there has always been respect and culture for good food, made with authentic ingredients, and curiosity did the rest. In this book I have put my soul of curious cook, to share with you my love for an enjoyable, tasty and genuine cuisine. Ready to lick your fingers?».
In the 150 recipes that Luca Pappagallo proposes in his new book, nothing is missing, including traditional, ethnic, gourmet dishes: a mix to try your hand at any type of preparation, from Bao ban al Boeuf à la Bourguignonne, from wild boar to cacciatore to prawn cocktail, and then muffins but also pavlova or grandmother’s cake, pasta with tuna, with mussels and then the one with chickpeas, risotto of all kinds and soups.
Among these there is also theAcquacotta, a typical dish of the Maremma (and also very popular in the Tuscia of Viterbo and in the Casentino), which is a condensation of the world of Papagallo House: a dish that tells of the homeland of one of the most beloved chefs on the web, but also of how it is possible to make an amazing dish with few and cheap ingredients.
