Huawei will bypass US sanctions by giving production licenses to other brands

Bloomberg, citing its own sources, reports that Huawei, whose smartphone manufacturing business has been destroyed by US sanctions, will transfer licenses to develop new gadgets to third-party mobile device manufacturers in the foreseeable future. This, analysts say, will save the former Chinese telecommunications giant’s mobile business by opening up access to critical hardware and services from Google. Now Huawei cannot use the developments of American companies, which, naturally, complicates the process of launching new products.

According to insiders, Huawei is now considering licensing its developments to the Chinese state-owned company PTAC (Postal and Telecommunications Appliances), which will be able to order the necessary parts for the production of smartphones that have been banned for Huawei since the giant was added to the US Blacklist. In addition, the Xnova division, which already sells the Nova line of smartphones under the auspices of Huawei, will offer even more smartphones based on the latest developments of the giant under the updated partnership agreements. It was also reported that another telecommunications equipment manufacturer TD Tech will sell smartphones with Huawei design under its own brand.

Of course, the partners to whom Huawei will transfer licenses for its own developments may change later – now there is an active stage of negotiations, and those manufacturers who offer the best conditions will eventually become the brand’s second wind. Another thing is that the United States may well not believe in these licensing methods, adding Huawei partners with all new products to the Black List.
