Humanitarian aid delivery via US-built jetty off Gaza coast resumes

The US military announced yesterday, Saturday 8/6 evening, that it has resumed the delivery of humanitarian aid to the residents of Gaza through the temporary floating jetty constructed by the US off the coast of the Palestinian enclave and damaged by a storm in end of May. Yesterday, around 22:30 local time (and Greek time), the joint command of the US armed forces, which is responsible for the Middle East (Centcom) “started the delivery of humanitarian aid on the ground in Gaza. Today (Saturday), a total of 492 tons of essential humanitarian aid was delivered to the population of Gaza,” according to the announcement posted on platform X. The day before, Friday, Centcom had announced the repositioning of the temporary pier that was damaged at the end of May and the resumption of humanitarian aid missions “in the coming days”.
