We use scented candles or a light room fragrance to immediately create a welcoming atmosphere. We spread rugs, add to our furniture some elements in wood and colors in warm tones, which recall those of the earth: terracotta, mustard, but also touches of forest green.
Always to warm the environment, pouf and soft cushions, even generously sized, are a real must, as are enveloping and comfortable sofas, perhaps with adjustable backrests, thick padding and a refined look.
And if we are lucky, we can envelop the house with the warmth of the fire of a fireplace or alternatively opt for an electric version which, thanks to the flame effect, is able to enhance any type of home.
The importance of light
Lighting is also essential to create that atmosphere of warmth and concentration typical of the season. It is good to prefer the entry of warm natural light during the day, and to celebrate the moment when darkness falls, enhancing it with suffused points of light, for example using a nice floor lamp or a small lamp on an entrance cupboard.
We decorate with natural elements
Leaves, hedgehogs and chestnuts, pine cones and ornamental pumpkins can be punctual elements of color. Let’s have fun collecting the most colorful and large leaves and compose them together for original decorations or for a centerpiece table in autumn theme.
And the colors and scents also come from the kitchen
Let’s set the table taking up the warm tones and let the forest green color and the variety of oranges blend together. All this is the accompaniment to the first hot chocolate, a good risotto with pumpkin, or steaming chestnuts.
