“I don’t know how I’m here”, says victim who survived seven shots in shooting

barrett hudson was shot seven times in a Colorado Springs nightclub, in the United States, on Saturday night (19) – and he does not know how he is still alive.

“Seven bullets hit my spine, hit my liver, hit my colon,” Hudson told CNN 🇧🇷 “I was very, very lucky. I don’t know how I’m here.”

Hudson took his first steps on Monday (21). “I didn’t expect to get it. I sure as hell didn’t expect to walk like I’m walking,” he recounted.

Hudson said he had just moved to Colorado a few weeks before and decided to check out Club Q.

After only 30 to 45 minutes inside, he heard several pops amid the music and then saw the gunman, who shot a man right in front of Barrett.

“I ran back and got shot. I knew I got shot a few times. I fell. He started shooting at me. I got up. I managed to get out through the back of the club,” said Hudson, who described a dramatic escape that included climbing a wire fence before ending up at a 7-Eleven.

He then collapsed and onlookers came to his aid. “They stopped the bleeding. They saved my life, ”he said.

As he lay in bed, Hudson called his father – whom he called his best friend.

“That was the last person I wanted to talk to,” Hudson said, unsure if he would survive or not.
