The competition of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) that will select temporary employees to carry out the 2022 Census has already reached the target number of subscribers.
According to the agency, linked to the Ministry of Economy, the selection already has more than 896 thousand candidates for the consultation, which will take place again in the country after 12 years and intends to visit about 70 million municipalities.
Of the total number of applicants, 474,000 are aspiring to be a census taker, responsible for the largest number of posts: there are 183,000, with availability in almost all Brazilian municipalities.
These vacancies were the main concern of the agency. In all, there are more than 206 thousand opportunities.
The selection was open for two weeks, in the second half of December, when it received 650,000 applications.
However, the number was below the 800,000 expected by the agency, which attributed the episode to the short deadline for registration and the period in which it took place, in the last weeks of the year, in the period that included Christmas.
To expand the offer and serve young people on vacation and temporary workers who left their jobs after the holidays, IBGE extended registration until January 21 (Friday).
With the longer term, the body now considers it possible to reach the one million mark.
The selection is in charge of Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV). Despite the application deadline, payment of the confirmation fee can be made until February 16th.
The tests are scheduled for April 10, with results on May 20. Only from then on will those approved be summoned and called for training, of an eliminatory and qualifying nature.
Successful candidates who present at least 80% attendance in training activities will be entitled to an allowance to cover transportation and food expenses.
The application fees vary, according to the position, between R$ 57.50 and R$ 60.50.
