The Ministry of Economy authorized the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) to hire, for a fixed period, 209,024 professionals to work in the 2022 Demographic Census. The decision is contained in two ordinances published in the Official Gazette (DOU) this Friday (3).
According to the act, the duration of the contracts will be up to one year, and may be extended if duly justified.
The IBGE will define the remuneration of the professionals to be hired and the deadline for publication of the notice to open enrollment for the simplified selection process will be up to six months, counting from the date of publication of the decrees.
Of the total number of professionals to be selected, 5,500 are for the position of Municipal Census Agent; 18,420, for Supervisor Census Agent; 183,100 for enumerator; 31, for Area Census Coordinator; 1,781, for Census Agent for Administration and Information Technology; 180, for Telephone Survey Census Agent; and 12 for Census Research and Coding Supervisor.
Expenses with authorized contracts will be charged to IBGE’s budget allocations.
However, they are conditional on the declaration of the responsible expense ordering officer regarding the adequacy of the new expenses with the Annual Budget Law and its compatibility with the Pluriannual Plan and with the Budget Guidelines Law.
