IBGE starts tests for the 2022 Census as of this Thursday (4)

As of this Thursday (4), the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) starts carrying out tests for the 2022 Census. By mid-December, neighborhoods, communities and districts in the 27 states will receive approximately 250 census takers. The actual survey will be carried out from June next year and will visit all households in the country.

The tests will include all the steps that will take place in the Census, such as collection systems and equipment, training of census takers, surveys on the surroundings of households and the question of the mixed model of interviews applied during the Covid-19 pandemic, with options by phone, online and in person. The information passed on to IBGE employees is confidential and confidential.

In Rio de Janeiro, the municipalities of Nova Iguaçu and Paulo de Frontin were chosen for sampling. In Nova Iguaçu, the tests will be carried out in the Zumbi dos Palmares community, which is located near the Presidente Dutra highway, where 261 households will receive the enumerators.

Other cities selected were: Jardim Olinda (PR), São Caetano do Sul (SP), Belo Horizonte, Macapá, Salvador, Novo Remanso (AM) and Tigrinhos (SC). Quilombola lands are also among those chosen, such as in Angra dos Reis and Paraty.

The census takers will be uniformed with a photo identification badge, in addition to a vest, cap and blue bags with the IBGE brand. They will be with a device similar to a cell phone, on which the research is carried out.
