The Ibovespa hesitated in trading this Monday (30), with the market keeping an eye on monetary policy decisions this week in the United States, the euro zone and Brazil, as well as the return of activities in the local Congress. At around 3:47 pm, the main stock exchange index was operating around stability, with a negative variation of 0.09%, at 112,263 points.
The dollar also performs around stability this Monday, after oscillating between gains and losses during the morning. The American currency recorded a positive variation of 0.04%, trading at R$ 5.110 on sale.
The Central Bank’s Focus survey released earlier showed a new rise in inflation projections by market economists and was also in focus.
At B3, at 9:08 am, the first contract dollar futures contract rose 0.32%, to R$ 5.127.
The future Ibovespa started the day close to stability, around 112 thousand points, taking off from Wall Street, which is falling. Brazil is cool from the outside, with foreign flows at the same pace as they entered the country, reaching close to R$ 10 billion on the stock exchange in January.
This week will still be Super Wednesday, with the Fed and the Brazilian BC announcing the course of their respective monetary policies. On Thursday, it’s the turn of the ECB and the Bank of England.
Here in Brazil, the highlight is Santander’s balance sheet for the 4th quarter of 2022, which will be released on Thursday. It will be the first bank to publish the balance sheet since the Americanas case, and the expectation is growing to know if it will already bring effects of the retailer’s judicial recovery. It should be noted that Santander is one of the company’s largest creditors.
The Central Bank will hold up to 16,000 traditional foreign exchange swap contracts in the trading session of this second auction for the purpose of rolling over the maturity of March 1, 2023.
On Friday (27), the spot dollar rose 0.76%, to R$ 5.112 on sale.
