Domestic violence is a reality that affects women in all social classes. It is estimated that at least one woman becomes a victim of this crime every four hours in Brazil, according to a study carried out by the “Security Observatory Network”.
In the most recent public case, the presenter Ana Hickmann reported her husband Alexandre Correa for assault. The violence reportedly occurred in Itu, in the interior of São Paulo.
To the police, Ana reported that she was talking to her 10-year-old son in the kitchen when Alexandre overheard, didn’t like the content of the conversation and started an argument with the presenter. The child, frightened, would have run out of the room.
