Or american star Ben Affleck he is feeling grateful for the second chances he has received in life, both in his career and in his personal life. Promoting his new movie “The Tender Bar”, the actor revealed to the newspaper “The Wall Street Journal” what has changed in the last five years for him.
“In the last five years alone, I’ve really felt more grateful for the difficulties I’ve had. It is not insignificant, because much of that pain is rooted in the pain caused to other people”, he told the publication.
As for a second chance with Jennifer Lopez, whom he’s been dating again 17 years after the breakup, he initially held back in the interview: “One of the hardest lessons I’ve learned is that it’s not wise to share everything with the world.” However, he went on to say that he is happy with the rebirth of romance. “I can say it’s definitely wonderful for me,” he revealed.
“My life now reflects not just the person I want to be, but the person I really feel like I am – who is not perfect, but someone who works hard and cares a lot about being honest, authentic and responsible. It’s hard to say who benefits most without going into details.”
Affleck further reflects that second chances, in all forms, are a gift. “I’m very lucky in my life to have benefited from second chances and I’m aware that other people don’t even get first chances.”
“I had a second chance in my career. I had a second chance as a human being. Life is difficult and we are always failing and hopefully learning from those failures,” he says.
“The only thing you really need to take advantage of the opportunities provided by this growth is second chances. I definitely tried to enjoy it. I wasn’t always successful, but where I did, they ended up being the defining aspects of my life.”
