In Brazil, South Korean actor announces donation to RS

Sung Hoon , South Korean actor, arrives in Brazil this Tuesday (7) to participate in a meeting with fans. Through social media, he showed solidarity with the victims of the rains in Rio Grande do Sul and said he will help with the donation of the money raised at the event.

“I'm going to board a plane to Brazil in a few hours. However, before leaving Korea I learned some sad news. I learned that there were heavy rains in the south of Brazil, which caused devastating flooding problems,” he said in stories on his Instagram profile.

“After discussions with Sam Enter, the organizer of the fan meeting in Brazil, I saw that it looks like we won't be able to help much. Still, we decided to donate all proceeds from the event to flood victims,” he said.

“Initially, I was excited to have fun with you and looked forward to going, but to receive such heartbreaking news is truly saddening. I hope the money from my 'fan meeting' can be of some help to those who were affected by the floods in Brazil. I offer my deepest condolences to those who are suffering at the moment”, concluded the actor.

It is worth mentioning that tickets for the event cost from R$275 to R$2,700. A official event company also opened a new batch of tickets, worth R$ 150, said to be “solidarity”, in order to encourage new trips and donations to the state.

The number of deaths confirmed as a result of the rains that hit Rio Grande do Sul since last week rose from 90 to 95, according to a report released by Civil Defense on Tuesday night. In addition to the deaths, the state has 372 injured people and 131 missing people.
