A 53-year-old man was arrested red-handed for the third time for chasing his wife in Barcelos, about 400 kilometers from Manaus, capital of Amazonas. He failed to comply with a protective order against the 51-year-old woman. She also suffered domestic violence.
The arrest took place this Saturday (5) and is the third time that the author has been arrested by same reason within a two-week interval according to the Amazonas Civil Police.
The case was registered by the 75th Interactive Police Station (DIP), where a request was made for the man’s preventive detention, who is in custody and awaiting transfer to a prison unit in Manaus (AM).
He was arrested on September 20th and last Thursday (3rd), for persecution against his daughter and his wife and for threatening another woman 58 years old. After the second arrest, he was released at a custody hearing, under several precautionary measures not to approach the victims or the place where they reside, according to delegate Rodrigo Monfroni, from the 75th DIP in Barcelos.
“In less than 24 hours after the custody hearing, he again failed to comply with the court order, being caught trying to invade his ex-wife’s residence, making several verbal threats. The victim informed us about what had happened and we went to the location and arrested him, together with the Military Police”, said the delegate.
The man must respond for non-compliance with a protective measure and is at the disposal of the Court.
