In Qatar, Bolsonaro says that Enem has “political and behavioral activism”

In the last stage of the official visit to countries in the Middle East, president Jair Bolsonaro (no party) criticized the Enem (National High School Exam), stating that the event preaches “political and behavioral activism”.

It was the second time that Bolsonaro mentioned Enem during the trip, but in today’s speech he made a comparison between Qatar and Brazil, saying that in the Middle East country there is investment and progress and that if Brazil wants to follow the same line of development, it needs to learn and get closer to the countries of the Middle East.

“In Qatar, you see progress, development. What is missing for us Brazilians to reach this level of development? We need to get closer to countries like Qatar, like Bahrain, like the United Arab Emirates, like Israel and South Korea. We have to get closer to these countries and exchange information. Here, they have been investing in education for decades. Look at the pattern of Enem in Brazil, for God’s sake. Does that measure some knowledge? Or is it political and behavioral activism?” asked Bolsonaro.

On the trip, Jair Bolsonaro and the presidential delegation visited three countries: the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Qatar. The president will return to Brasília this Thursday (18) at dawn.
