In Rio, Giuseppe Grill adds beef wellington and more new features to the menu

With 18 years of history and impressive vitality, the Giuseppe Grill is always remembered as one of the best meat restaurants in Rio. In fact, it goes further — it deserves place among the best restaurants in the city .

One of the crown jewels of the BestFork group (owner of establishments such as Xian, Yusha and Nolita Roastery), the elegant and always popular Leblon address increased its menu this year with tempting news .

Among them are the steak tartar prepared at the table by the maître d’ (R$ 268; for two) and the royal prime rib english cut (R$ 396; for two), a noble piece taken from the beef rib that appears on the menu exclusively on Saturdays and Sundays.

THE The main new feature is beef wellington (R$ 268, for two), a recipe that is difficult to find in restaurants due to its meticulous preparation, such as precise control of temperature and time in the oven.

The dish consists of a 350-gram piece of filet mignon that arrives wrapped in duxelles (sautéed mushrooms, onion, garlic and herbs), Parma ham and puff pastry. Only 10 units are produced per day. Keep an eye out as it always sells out.

Excellence in dealing with meat continues in suggestions such as black angus beef rib (R$ 168), and dry aged cuts such as prime rib (R$ 424) and t-bone (R$ 424).

There is also the picanha supra sumo (R$ 178) — the house’s exclusive cut, taken from the softest and most marbled part of the Argentine picanha. In fact, the Giuseppe Grill sells around five tons of picanha every month .

The house, which has been visited by many celebrities passing through Rio, such as actor Will Smith and the bands Coldplay, Imagine Dragons and Black Eyed Peas, also has an impressive wine cellar with two thousand bottles which holds a collection of 550 wine labels.

The selection includes rarities, such as the first vintage of the famous Tuscan Solaia, from 1978, and a Château Petrus from 1975 . They are organized in a 64-page letter, recognized as the Award of Excellence certification, an award granted by Wine Spectator.
