Nissan has launched an assembly of Qashqai and X-Trail crossovers in St. Petersburg with the proprietary ProPilot unmanned driving system. Also, cars assembled in Russia will receive support for the Nissan Connect Services mobile application.
The ProPilot autopilot system maintains the specified speed and distance from the vehicle in front, as well as the center of the lane. Also, the car can independently move and brake in traffic jams. The manufacturer emphasizes that the driver should not take his hands off the steering wheel in order to take control if necessary. The ProPilot system belongs to the first level of autonomy; the third level systems allow you to take your hands off the steering wheel.

The ProPilot system has been adapted to Russian conditions, for which the company’s engineers drove more than 30,000 kilometers from Crimea to Vladivostok in self-driving cars, assessing traffic, markings and even behavior patterns of Russian drivers.
The Nissan Connect Services app allows you to remotely start the engine, control headlights and horns, and lock and unlock doors. You can also use your smartphone to estimate the range, view your travel history, adjust the speed limit, and call an operator from Nissan support.
Today Qashqai and X-Trail in Russia are offered at a price of 1,459,000 and 1,824,000 rubles, respectively. How much the versions with ProPilot will cost has not yet been announced.
