In which college will Prince George study? Here is Kate Middleton's favorite

Eton College it has always been a favorite of British royals to spend their formative years. However, recent reports suggest that the Princess of Wales may be considering a different approach for her firstborn, Prince George. The Mail on Sunday reports that Kate Middleton is leaning towards Oundle School, based in Northamptonshire. The college, founded in 1556, is one of the most prestigious in the United Kingdom. It has been governed by a royal charter since 1930 and is located in the picturesque town of the same name. On the school's website, it says that Oundle aims to provide its pupils with “the skills, attitudes and habits of mind that will support them throughout their lives, enabling them to thrive both at school and beyond”.

This would mark a change in policy for the British royals. The Prince of Wales and King Charles III, George's father and grandfather, attended the prestigious Eton, based in Berkshire, as did his uncle, the Duke of Sussex. Eton was also a secondary school for several future British Prime Ministers, including Lord Cameron and Boris Johnson, as well as other leading political figures such as Rory Stewart. However, Oundle boasts its own selection of high-level alumni, including evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins and Charles Wintour (former editor-in-chief ofEvening Standard and father of Anna Wintour).

Other recent reports had suggested that the Princess of Wales was considering sending Prince George to her alma mater, Marlborough College. Kate spent her formative years there, before going to the University of St. Andrews where she met her future husband. Her siblings James and Pippa also completed their education at this school. However, Mail on Sunday suggests that the school has become too “flashy”, partly due to the increase in ultra-wealthy parents, attracted by the presence of the Middleton family. If George chooses to attend Oundle or Marlborough, it will be the first time a male heir will attend a mixed school.
