Transsexual Influencer Samara Mapoua had her arrest in the act reversed in preventative during a custody hearing, this Wednesday (27), according to the Court of Justice of Rio de Janeiro.
In the decision, judge Diego Fernandes Silva Santos denied the defense's request for provisional release, as he understood that the crime committed was serious. He also ordered that the influencer be kept in a women's prison.
Mapoua, who has more than 5 million followers on TikTok, was arrested for illegal possession of a restricted firearm in the early hours of Tuesday (26). The case was registered at the Penha Police Station (22nd DP), in the north of Rio.
According to the Military Police, who carried out the arrest, the influencer was with five friends in a car on Avenida Brasil, near Olaria, in the north of Rio, when she was approached by police officers.
The gun, with the number scratched off, and ammunition were found in the vehicle. The car, pistol and six cell phones were seized.
To the police, Mapoua confessed to owning the pistol and informed that she was carrying a gun out of fear, as she would be threatened.
A CNN tries to contact the influencer's defense, who continues to have social networks supplied with content even after the arrest.
On Instagram, Mapoua's boyfriend said he could not comment on the case for legal reasons, “we cannot say anything about the injustice of the system, what we can do is demonstrate what we feel and put faith, hope and love”, he wrote.
