The southern region of Brazil is in a state of alert for intense rains until this Monday (04). The National Institute of Meteorology (INMET) released the alert this Sunday morning (03).
According to INMET, rainfall of between 20 and 30 millimeters per hour is expected, reaching up to 50 millimeters per day. According to the institute's warning, winds could reach 60km/h.
In Santa Catarina, rains are expected to hit the mountainous region, the west of Santa Catarina, Vale do ItajaÃ, greater Florianópolis, and parts of the south and north of the state. In Paraná, the alert mentions the west, southeast and center-south of the state.
In Rio Grande do Sul, the expectation is that the rains should affect almost the entire state, with the exception of southern Rio Grande do Sul. This Sunday (03), the Rio Grande do Sul Civil Defense said that municipalities reported rain, however, without damage.
