The murders of councilor Marielle Franco and driver Anderson Gomes complete five years this Tuesday (14). So far, Justice has not elucidated who had the councilwoman killed and why.
In 2019, former police officers Ronnie Lessa and Élcio Queiroz were arrested for carrying out the shots that killed Marielle and Anderson.
On social media, today’s date was marked by tributes and requests for justice.
“In these 5 years that our request for answers echoes around the world, will we be with several artists to say that we remain in the fight to know who ordered Marielle’s death and why?” honored the Marielle Franco Institute.
In another publication, the institute stated: “We have to show that 5 years is too long and that the cry for justice for Marielle and Anderson continues to echo.”

It is in the name of this incredible woman’s memory and struggle that we will remain firm demanding answers, 5 years after this brutal crime.
