Intel does not lose hope that Apple will return to using its processors in the future.
Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger spoke about this in another interview.
I never give up on the idea that something is not running on Intel chips. Apple decided they could make a better chip themselves than we did. And they did a pretty good job. So I need to build a better chip than they can do themselves. I hope to get back this part of their business, as well as many others, over time. In the meantime, I must make sure that our products are better than theirs, that my ecosystem is more open and vibrant than theirs, and that we create better reasons for developers and users to use Intel-based products. I will fight hard to win Tim’s business in this area
At the same time, the head of Intel noted that the return of Apple could take years. Gelsinger also believes that the Cupertino giant can use Intel’s manufacturing facilities to release its single-chip systems.
