Investigation into sex abuse at private boarding school after revelations by Princess Diana’s brother

British police announced today that they are launching a criminal investigation into allegations that children, including Princess Diana’s brother, were sexually abused at a boarding school in central England in the 1970s. In a book released in March titled A Very Private School, Charles Spencer, the brother of King Charles’ first wife, claimed he was sexually assaulted and physically punished while inside at Medwell Hall. The management of the private school apologized, saying it was “surprised” by these revelations. “It’s hard to read information about practices that, unfortunately, were sometimes considered normal and acceptable at the time,” he noted, stressing that things have changed a lot since then.
