The Israeli Ministry of Health identified this Friday (26) the presence of the new variant of Covid-19 discovered in South Africa.
According to the folder, a case was identified in a person who came from Malawi. In addition to this already confirmed case, there are suspicions of two more cases coming from abroad awaiting test results.
The two suspicious people are serving isolation. The Ministry of Health informed that it continues to monitor the situation in the country regarding the new strain.

The B.1.1.529 strain of the new coronavirus was first identified in Botswana, southern Africa, has worried scientists because it has many mutations that give the virus its advantages.
The strain has also been found in South Africa and Hong Kong. So far, there are no records of the variant in Brazil.
The emergence of a new variant of SARS-CoV-2, the technical name of the new coronavirus, is a matter of concern among the global scientific community.
