A man stabbed an Israeli policeman near the Old City of Jerusalem before being “neutralized” by Israeli security forces, Israeli police said.
The victim and the perpetrator were taken to hospital. Doctors said the perpetrator, who was shot by police, was not dead.
Earlier, the Israeli army and a hospital reported that Israeli soldiers had killed a Palestinian man trying to cross into Israel from the occupied West Bank.
According to the army, “a person who tried to cross the security fence (…) near Tulkarem” was identified. The soldiers shot and killed him.
A spokesman for Israel’s Shebaa hospital told AFP that the Palestinian had succumbed to his injuries.
