The Israeli military placed the northern part of the Golan Heights, as well as Nevatim, Dimona and Eilat, on alert for a possible impact from Iranian drone launches in the early hours of Sunday (14), local time, instructing residents to stay close of anti-aircraft shelters.
The Golan region was taken from Syria in a 1967 war.
Nevatim is the site of an Israeli air base. Israel has a nuclear reactor on the outskirts of Dimona.
Eilat is Israel's southern Red Sea port, which has been the target of repeated attacks by Yemen's Houthis.
Iran's Revolutionary Guard said on Saturday (13) that it launched more than 100 drones against specific targets in Israel.
The information was initially reported by the Israel Defense Forces spokesman, Daniel Hagari.
According to Hagari, they were monitoring the threat in their airspace and added that the attack would take a few hours to reach Israel.
“If we discover specific threats with a shorter arrival time, we will update you immediately,” he said. “We ask that you remain vigilant and follow the instructions of the Home Front Command. We understand these threats and have dealt with them in the past.”
