“This type of door is used by the terrorist organization Hamas to rule out on Israeli forces the entrance to the command centers and underground infrastructure belonging to Hamas,” Chahal said in a statement accompanying the video, which shows a narrow passage leading to a gray door.
The announcement does not specify what is behind the door. The statement also states that access to the tunnel was discovered in an area within Al-Sifa’s facilities that contained ammunition.
Hamas admits to having a network of secret tunnels, shelters and wells hundreds of kilometers long throughout the Gaza Strip. But he denies that such tunnels exist under civilian infrastructure such as hospitals.
