“It is not the threat of dismissal that will make people get vaccinated”, says Queiroga

The Minister of Health, Marcelo Queiroga, defended this Saturday (6) vaccination as the best solution to fight the coronavirus pandemic, and stated that the way to get the population to be vaccinated is through trust, not “by force”.

“Vaccines are the hope of putting an end to the pandemic character. We need to advance more and, for that, we have to have the population’s trust”, said Queiroga.

“It’s not going to be the basis of the force that we’re going to bring the population to vaccines, we’re going to bring it by convincing. It will not be with the threat of dismissal that we are going to make people get vaccinated”, said the minister, referring to the recent decision of the Ministry of Labor that forbade companies to demand proof of vaccination and fire employees for not having been vaccinated .

Queiroga spoke this Saturday in Manaus, where he participated in events alongside Governor Wilson Lima for the Malaria Day in the Americas.
