Physical Education teacher Cinthia da Silva Barbosa attended the wake of her colleague who was murdered at the Thomazia Montoro State School, in São Paulo, by a 13-year-old student.
Cinthia was called a heroine by the Secretary of Public Security of São Paulo, Guilherme Derrite, for immobilizing the minor during the attack on the school, on Monday (27).
She said that the moment is of a “confusion of feelings”.
“I want to transmit energy to my colleagues, to the family and to the entire school community”, he commented.
The teacher was veiled and buried at Cemitério do Araçá, this Tuesday (28), in the western region of São Paulo.
Security camera footage recorded the moment the teenager stabbed a teacher.
Cinthia enters the room, strikes and immobilizes the student. Another teacher pulls out the knife. The minor was apprehended by the police and will undergo a custody hearing this Tuesday.
The physical education teacher was an athlete on the BCN basketball team, from Osasco, and has been a teacher for two years at the school where the attack took place.
