Dolly Parton got $100 million from Jeff Bezos to give to her loved ones charitable institutions. The philanthropist and iconic singer of “Jolene” has been selected as the recipient of the “Bezos Courage & Civility Award” to personalities who “pursue solutions with courage and kindness”. The money goes to organizations of their choice. The owner of Blue Origin announced the huge prize on Friday with his longtime partner and news anchor Lauren Sanchez.
“Jeff Bezos and I are so proud that we have a new one winner of the Bezos Courage and Civility Award — a woman who she gives with her heart and she leads with love and compassion in every aspect of her work,” said Bezos’ longtime partner.
Lauren Sanchez, posted on Instagram along with a video from their speech before he presented the grant to the legendary star. “We look forward to seeing all the good things you are going to do with this award $100 million, @DollyParton,” broadcasts NYpost.
In a video clip of the ceremony posted online, the 76-year-old singer– he got excited : “Wow! Did you say $100 million?’ was her reaction.
