US Treasury Secretary Janet Glenn said yesterday that President Joe Biden is not expected to withdraw tariffs on Canadian timber as part of a possible White House move to fight inflation to fight inflation.
“As far as I know, this is not being considered, at least in the context of the president’s moves,” said Glenn, referring to the 11.64% tariff to offset government subsidies applied to most Canadian timber imports to the United States.
Glenn made the remarks to reporters during a visit to the Rosebud Sioux Tribe reservation in South Dakota.
