Job opportunities in agriculture almost double in a year, according to platform

Agribusiness was responsible for almost a third of Brazil’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2021, reaching 27.4%. This is the largest share of GDP since 2004.

The data are from Cepea (Center for Advanced Studies in Applied Economics), from Esalq USP, in partnership with CNA (Confederation of Agriculture and Livestock of Brazil).

The sector has been breaking successive records in recent years, and the good performance reflects greater demand in the job market. A survey carried out by the site Empregos.com.br pointed to a growth of 96.4% in the number of vacancies available.

In 2019, the platform recorded 2,200 job opportunities in this area, while in 2022 the number of open jobs reached 4,321. Currently, the site has 425 open positions in the sector.

The positions that most need professionals are: commercial representative, driver and machine operator. The sector also grows in areas such as technology, strategy and marketing.
