TV Globo reporter Gabriel Luiz posted on Twitter this Friday (29) a message thanking him for the “affection, support and prayers” he received. He was hit by 10 stab wounds, on the 14th, during an attempted robbery near the building where he lives, in Brasília.
“You can’t imagine how much of a difference it makes! I am speechless with so many people who love me,” she said.

On Twitter, the journalist also reported that he had to be temporarily admitted to the ICU (Intensive Care Unit) because of “severe spikes of fever, with chills” he had.
However, less than an hour after the first publications, Gabriel said he was discharged from the ICU and was returning to his room.
After suffering puncture wounds to his abdomen, arms and neck, Gabriel said that “every day in the hospital has been a different challenge”.
“There are days of battle and days of rest. I am in the hands of the best and, based on what the doctors tell me, I am confident that my exit is now much closer than far away,” he said.
He also said that he is slowly getting back to his routine. “Walking around alone normally, reading, singing, playing dominoes and making up for bad puns. And my focus today is dinner: margherita pizza. Want something better?” he wrote.
DF police see attempted robbery in attack
The Civil Police of the Federal District announced that it is investigating that the crime committed against TV Globo reporter Gabriel Luiz, 29, was an attempted robbery – robbery followed by death. Two suspects were arrested: a 17-year-old minor and a 19-year-old.
The teenager was taken to the Police Station for Children and Adolescents where he was heard. The partner was arrested in the act this night and gave testimony to agents of the 3rd DP (Cruzeiro). According to Chief Delegate Douglas Fernandes, both confessed to being responsible for the attack. They said they did not know the journalist and stated that they were under the influence of drugs before the incident.
“They said they didn’t know who the victim was and they said they didn’t agree in advance that they were going to commit a robbery yesterday. They used Rupinol [comprimido usado no golpe conhecido como ‘boa noite Cinderela’]” he declared.
Fernandes stressed that, although the line of investigation concluded that it was an attempted robbery, the police did not rule out the participation of a third person.
“In this case, we have the victim in recovery, the murder weapon, the stolen wallet, the stolen cell phone, the two individuals who appear in the footage, their confession. The case is close to being an attempted robbery,” she reinforced. “But we still don’t rule out the possible participation of other people”.
According to the delegate, the 19-year-old suspect was responsible for stabbing Gabriel while the teenager applied a rear naked choke and stole the journalist’s objects. The delegate said that, in testimony, both showed regret after the crime.
Deputy Peter Ranquetat, who worked on Gabriel’s case earlier this morning, said that he will be heard “as soon as he presents conditions”. “We will collect the testimony, but we believe that everything we have found so far will be corroborated,” he said.
