US Vice President Kamala Harris will travel to Pittsburgh on Thursday (5) to prepare for the presidential debate against Donald Trump, which will take place next week, according to two sources familiar with the planning.
Kamala will remain in the city until the debate on September 10, sources said.
It’s the second time the vice president will visit the city this week, after campaigning with President Joe Biden on Labor Day. CNN previously reported that she would cut back on travel ahead of the debate to dedicate time to preparation.
The Democrat plans to make “community stops” throughout the week while in Pittsburgh and remain on the campaign trail in a key state while also preparing for the presidential debate, according to one of the sources.
Kamala vs. Trump Showdown
The September 10 debate will give Kamala another opportunity to speak to a large audience and draw a stark contrast with former President Donald Trump.
ABC, the network that will carry the match, previously announced that it will take place at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia.
Kamala and Trump’s campaigns remain in discussions over debate rules, according to sources.
Democrats have been pushing for microphones to remain on throughout the debate, while Republicans want microphones to be turned off while the other candidate is speaking, just as they were in the June debate hosted by CNN.
