The latest music video from Katy Perry , “Lifetimes” is being investigated for possible environmental damage in Spain. This is because the Department of Environment of the Balearic Islands issued a press release claiming that the production company behind the clip did not request authorization to film in the dunes of the Ses Salines Natural Park.
Although the Department of the Environment is investigating the possibility that the filming caused environmental damage to the beach, the official note still reinforces that in no case would it constitute a crime for environmental violation.
“The filming of photographic, cinematographic, videographic or any other type of report that involves capturing images in any medium and format for advertising or commercial exhibition purposes requires express authorization from the competent Ministry of the Environment, without prejudice to other authorizations that may be granted by the corresponding authorities and bodies, including those relating to property rights,” they said.
The video for “Lifetimes,” the second single from Perry’s new album, “143,” was released last week. The video, which not only shows the artist enjoying a “paradisiacal” summer, also features the complete tracklist for the new album.
