The Kremlin said today that its attack on Ukraine would end when the Ukrainian authorities and the Ukrainian army capitulate.
“The Ukrainian side can end the conflict on the same day. It must order the nationalist units to lay down their arms, it must order the Ukrainian soldiers to lay down their arms and it must abide by all the conditions set by Russia. Then everything will “Dmitry Peshkov, a spokesman for Vladimir Putin, told reporters.
According to him, the Russian side has not set any deadline or timetable: “we are guided by the statements of our president.”
Peshkov reaffirmed that “the special military operation is being carried out according to plan”, using Russian euphemism for the invasion of Ukraine.
Peshkov reacted with these remarks to statements allegedly made by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky before the heads of state and government of the Group of Seven (G7) most developed industrialized countries, whom he called “to do their utmost” to put an end to before the end of the year in the raging conflict in his country.
