Launch of foreign language tuition centers and centers with digital submission of the notification

From 12 April 2022, the licensing of activities in the field of education – Tutoring and Foreign Language Centers (KAD 85.59) – with a capacity of less than 75 students per hour, is carried out by notification, through digital submission, to the information system NotifyBusiness (https://notifybusiness.gov.gr/), as announced by the Ministry of Development.

The above educational structures constitute the majority of companies for these activities in the country, the ministry notes in a relevant announcement.

Structures with a capacity of more than 75 students per hour, for reasons of better security, are maintained in an approval status. The digitization of the approval procedures will be implemented at a later time.

The simplification of licensing procedures in the field of education was introduced with article 71 of law 4849/2021 (A ‘207), which added the chapter LPS (articles 285-287) to law 4442/2016 “New institutional framework for exercise of economic activity and other provisions “(AD 230). This provision together with JM 14715 / ΓΓ4 / 2022 (Β΄609) defined the procedures and completed the simplification framework, thus creating the basis for the digitization of the procedures in the important and security-sensitive field of education.

Digital submission, in addition to simplifying the previous bureaucratic procedures, facilitates businesses, which can now start their financial activity by submitting the notification, without time limits, while informing the competent authorities in real time.

It is noted that the digital submission for the activities of the education sector marks a first in the context of the reform implemented for the improvement of the business environment, as for these activities there was no intermediate submission of notifications, thus relieving the entrepreneurs from the obligation to go themselves or their representatives to the competent licensing authorities.
