The US Department of Justice reported that US, Australian and European law enforcement agencies specializing in the fight against drugs and the sale of illegal goods on the darknet were involved in Operation Dark Huntor. The operation was coordinated by Europol and Eurojust.
In a statement, the US Department of Justice said that during the operation, 150 suspects were arrested in drug trafficking through the darknet, as well as in the illegal sale of goods and services in Australia, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States.
The agency noted that in support of Operation Dark Huntor, Italian authorities closed the sites Deepsea and Berlusconi on the darknet, which had posted more than 40,000 advertisements for the sale of illegal goods. Four site administrators were arrested. During the search, a cryptocurrency worth 3.6 million euros was seized from them.
In August, the police in the Australian state of Victoria confiscated $ 6 million worth of cryptocurrencies related to drug trafficking, and a month earlier, London police confiscated £ 180 million worth of cryptocurrency.
