Leandro Lehart, from Art Popular, is convicted of rape and false imprisonment

Singer Leandro Lehart, from the group Art Popular, was sentenced to 9 years, 7 months and 6 days of imprisonment and 24 days fine for rape and false imprisonment against a woman. According to sources heard by the CNN the crimes would have occurred in October 2019

The conviction was carried out by the 17th Criminal Court of São Paulo and published last Tuesday (13). The decision provided for a closed initial regime, however, the judge authorized Leandro to appeal in freedom.

According to information, Leandro Lehart and the victim met in late 2017. They would have maintained a casual relationship until 2019, when the crimes took place.

This Friday (16), the singer used social media to comment on the case.

“I am the victim of a great injustice, but the truth will soon prevail. It’s 40 years of career and 50 years of life believing in justice, and even if it’s late, it doesn’t fail. And evil will never prevail,” she wrote on her Instagram account.

In the same publication, the artist showed a note from his defense, which states: “Leandro Lehart’s technical defense, in response to requests from the press for comments, informs that the case is under judicial secrecy and is still pending a final decision, the which precludes further consideration of the facts.
