Leonardo DiCaprio asks young Brazilians to withdraw their voter registration

after the actor Mark Ruffalowho plays “Hulk”, in the Marvel movies, now it was Leonardo DiCaprio’s turn to use social networks to comment on Brazilian politics.

On Twitter, the star of “Titanic” and other classics asked young Brazilians to take their voter registration and participate in the 2020 elections, which take place on October 2.

“Brazil is home to the Amazon and other ecosystems critical to climate change. What happens there matters to all of us, and the youth vote is critical to driving change for a healthy planet. To learn more about voter registration in Brazil before May 4th,” the tweet reads.

DiCaprio is an environmental activist and has already congratulated the governors of Amapá, Pará and Amazonas for the environmental protection and conservation of the Amazon Rainforest.

On Tuesday (26), Ruffalo also used the social network to invite young people in Brazil to participate in the 2022 electoral process.

“Hello friends from Brazil! If you are 16 or 17, make sure you register to vote before the May 4 deadline. What happens in Brazil matters to all of us. Your vote is your power. Use your power!” reads the publication.

In a decade, the number of 16- and 17-year-olds who applied for their first voter registration card dropped by 82%, according to a CNN survey based on data from the Superior Electoral Court (TSE).

To obtain the voter registration

Registration requires filling out a form and sending photos of documents and a selfie.

It is also possible to download the e-Título application, which can be presented with a photo identification document at the time of voting.
