Truss, who is the favorite in the race for prime minister, has previously said she does not believe handouts are the best way to help households cope with the pressures of rising living costs and prefers to focus on tax cuts.
The result of the contest between Liz Truss and former Finance Minister Rishi Sunak for the British Prime Ministership is expected on September 5.
