Testing of a new method of user authorization in social networks and Internet services has started in Russia. To do this, it is proposed to use the portal “Gosuslugi”, as reported on April 5 by the authors of RIA Novosti.
The new experiment, carried out by the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation, will last more than a year and will end on July 1, 2022. As part of the testing, users who have an account on “State Services” will be able to log in with its help in social networks and on various portals without additional registration. In fact, an account on “State Services” will become an alternative to other authorization systems, for example, using a Google account, VK or Apple ID. At the same time, the department notes that with authorization through “State Services”, users will be able to conveniently and safely conclude transactions and contracts on the Internet. At the same time, it is argued that personal data of users will not be transferred to third parties.
“Users of social networks, aggregators of goods and services and job search sites will be able to choose at will: register with a separate login-password or use the account of the portal of public services,” the Ministry of Digital Industry said.
The department hopes that their initiative will make communication between business and customers in an online format more reliable and comfortable for everyone.
