London Fashion Week, dates and news for Spring / Summer 2022

Like much of the latest fashion weeks, the last two editions of the London Fashion Week took place almost entirely in virtual, through the official platform of the same name. After the loosening of restrictions on social distancing in recent months, the shows are finally about to make a comeback as well, with around 130 designers presenting their Spring / Summer 2022 collections in a mix – this time, with more physical shows – with digital presentations.

Although the program was kicked off by the opening ceremony, some parties and the Fashion Communication graduate exhibition at Conde Nast College, the official London Fashion Week calendar develops from 17 to 21 September and, since last year, it has seen genderless fashion shows inside, without any division between women’s and men’s fashion. Presenting their collections live for the next hot season we find, among others, Erdem, Simone Rocha, Margaret Howell and Richard Quinn, while Molly Goddard, Vivienne Westwood and Edward Crutchley will hold their shows on a digital platform. Also highly anticipated is the return of JW Anderson to the London program.

One of the big news of this fashion week will be the first solo show by Nensi Dojaka, designer fresh from the LVMH award for emerging talents, who will help kick off the calendar this afternoon through a TikTok space. This edition of London Fashion Week, hosted as always by the British Fashion Council (BFC), was organized in collaboration with Clearpay, and is a key event to give a positive signal for culture and the economy: “The initiative aims to bring traffic back to the capital by reminding consumers of the vitality and excitement of London, “said Caroline Rush, CEO of BFC” With the involvement of over 100 brands, stores, hospitality venues and cultural institutions, we are looking forward to seeing the whole city come to life ».
