The Court of the State of São Paulo granted Ingrid Santa Rita, former participant in the reality show “Casamento às Cegas”, on Netflix, a protective measure against her ex-husband, Leandro Marçal, after an allegation of rape.
According to the São Paulo Public Security Secretariat (SSP-SP), the measure was a request from the Civil Police who are investigating Leandro, a partner she met on the program, for rape of a vulnerable person, psychological violence against women and domestic violence.
In the last episode of the season, which aired on July 10, the contestant recounted what happened on camera. Ingrid said that her daughters found her “having a panic attack and begging for the love of God” that her husband not touch her body.
On the same day, the victim appeared at the Osasco Women’s Defense Department, where the case is still under investigation. The SSP-SP stated that the victim was heard and “requested a protective measure, which was accepted by the courts.”
During the program, Leandro Marçal apologized to his ex-partner and said that the relationship between the two was never healthy. CNN also sought out Leandro Marçal to comment on the matter and awaits his response.
On his social media, the suspect made an official statement about the case, last Sunday (14), and denied any accusations made by the former participant.
“I, Leandro Marçal, hereby inform that I have never committed any of the acts that were attributed to me by Mrs. Ingrid Santa Rita, with whom I had a brief romantic relationship, as is well known,” said Marçal. He also stated that all legal measures will be taken by his legal counsel.
The Civil Police said that efforts are underway to locate the suspect and summon him to give a statement.
