To trust Instagram, one would say that Luca Vezil he almost always smiles heartily, as if worries didn’t even scratch him sideways. It is enough to dig a little deeper, however, to discover that reality is very different from how it appears: “I smile because I am a sunny person and I try to convey an idea of happiness to those who follow me, but it is normal that sometimes behind those smiles there may be thoughts and anxieties “explains Luca on the phone from his home in Milan, the same one who decided to show the new program to the cameras of MTV Cribs Italia, starting from Wednesday 17 March at 9.10pm on MTV (Sky channel 130 and streaming on NOW TV) which will allow the public to discover something more about him and his life.
Originally from Genoa, dental hygienist even before being an influencer with a million followers, engaged for almost eight years to Valentina Ferragni and one step away from becoming an uncle-bis, Luca really conveys that radiance that he speaks about on his profiles: he answers questions with enthusiasm, never has a moment of hesitation and shows, if needed, that the idea of “Nice who doesn’t dance” couldn’t be further from him. Especially considering his dream of starting a family and becoming, as soon as the “blond general” who is at his side wants it, dad.
We know a lot about his daily life through his profiles. What it will show MTV Cribs Italia more?
“On our profiles we decide what to show, while this time we open the doors of our house that, for one reason or another, we have never shown why we are jealous of our spaces”.
Which area of the house do you frequent the most?
«For a year now it has been the living room, which we use a lot both on a stage and at home level. With the change of everyday life we found ourselves living the house much more and therefore in the evening we often indulge in the sofa and a good TV series. In addition, I frequent the cellar a lot which until a year ago was a storage room for suitcases and surfboards and now it has become a small gym, a place where I can stay for my own sake. It doesn’t even take the internet, a stimulus that encourages me not to get distracted.
Does physical activity help you reconnect with yourself?
“Absolutely yes. Staying at home for a long time led me to think too much and, therefore, to look for a way to release stress and thoughts, focusing on my physical and mental goal. This helped me to know myself better and to listen to myself, to try to understand the things that are wrong. It is a bit of my therapy, if the term passes me ».
Certainly he also trains for the aesthetic factor, which his followers show to appreciate. How many hours a day do you spend in front of the mirror?
“Not many, because I have a girlfriend who has seen fit to fill the house with mirrors so, where I turn and turn, it’s not so much a choice. When I am out of the house, however, I admit that every now and then I check my hair with the internal camera of the phone ».
As he wrote in one of his latest posts, behind the appearance there is also something else.
“We work on numbers and I’m a little sorry that the posts in which I am shirtless work more than the more reflective ones where I write some personal considerations. I’m sorry, because the “beauty without a soul” has never belonged to me as a figure. I was pointed out, however, that the Luca with the perfect hair in the posts looks very different from the Luca who makes jokes in the Stories ».
Is it better to keep the moments when he doesn’t smile to himself?
“On social media, the reality and truthfulness of the story is valid: if one is always smiling after a while, I have always had the idea that telling about your weaknesses can make you, from a certain point of view, attackable. Talking about it exorcises thought and can help people interact with you, but it always depends on chance. A couple of years ago our dog was operated on and we didn’t know if he would survive: I didn’t want to tell it, but Vale did and he received a lot of support from those who were feeling the same anguish and calmed down. In short, telling only the beautiful pays and does not pay ».
Among other things, she is strictly connected to the smile, since she is a dental hygienist.
“I am a dental hygienist loaned to the life of social media: during the university all this broke out and, when I graduated, I decided to put this project in a drawer to devote myself to something else, but it is not certain that in the future I will not decide to make people smile in the most literal sense of the word ».
What did he want to become as a child?
“The dentist. When I accompanied my brother to the office because he was wearing braces, I saw the dentist very sure of himself and he fascinated me: it goes without saying that my parents were delighted. At the age of 17, however, I had some doubts and I thought about doing Design: I didn’t always see myself in the same studio with the same people inside four walls. In the summer I worked as a lifeguard and the owner of the establishment was a professor of dentistry who suggested the path of the hygienist, a freelance profession that would allow me to manage patients independently. It was the right compromise ».
What happens next?
«I met Valentina on holiday in Mykonos: we were small, she was 16 and I was 18. Then we lost touch and started dating when I was 21. One day he told me that his sister was going to Genoa for an event, but then and there I didn’t understand why: he explained what he was doing, but I didn’t realize. When we started dating more seriously and I realized that there was the possibility of starting a blog, I did it too: it was something born as a joke, without ambition ».
At that point his life changes.
“It was all quite gradual, not easy at first. My parents were happy that I was going to Milan to visit Vale, but not that I was staying there to follow an event: they didn’t think this could be a job, social networks weren’t so cleared of customs, the point of arrival was television. One evening TG5, broadcasting a report on Pitti, framed me and my friends understood that it was a big deal. Shortly after, the fashion week arrived in New York, the first events and the rest: so I stopped being the one who had the crickets on his head ».
He said that before it was the tv was the point of arrival. Her, apart from the parenthesis MTV Cribs, I did not frequent it very much. Is it in your projects?
“I don’t mind TV to the extent that you manage to be yourself. If you have to be part of a car bigger than you like a reality show is another matter. After the wedding of Chiara and Fede I received many proposals to make myself known, but the TV of the moment, apart from MTV with which I grew up and a few other exceptions, is particular: for sure I would not see myself closed in a house arguing with someone for make audience. If those are the proposals, I would say that they are not my goal. On the other hand, there is my mother who used to say that I had crickets in my head and now she calls me to find out at what time the program will go on air to tell her grandmother ».
If you found the right project, would it involve Valentina?
«It depends on the project. She and I are very complementary and doing it together would be a plus both in terms of storytelling and performance: having a partner who knows and understands you is interesting ».
You’ve been together for 8 years, right?
“In November we will celebrate the eighth anniversary. We started dating earlier, in March 2013, but since at the beginning we wanted to be cautious because we were not sure that the distance would not be a problem, we decided to take the November date for granted ».
Certainly the lockdown has changed everyone’s life and relationships: is there something more that you understood about Valentina and about yourself?
«Before the pandemic we did not have a home routine, so forced coexistence was a bit of a leap into the void: we learned to know the limits of the other and to understand that many times it is important to take time for ourselves. If she needs half an hour on the phone with her sisters, I need an hour to train. We learned how to cook and how to be of psychological support for each other in difficult times. The pandemic, in a certain sense, did us good because it brought us closer as a couple, we also started talking about important topics about our future ».
How do you see the future?
“I can’t complain about how the present is going, so I hope it continues like this. I think I was able to find a key that before was more marked by the image alone, the beautiful and damned, and which now allows me to tell my things in a more free way, getting closer to people. I don’t see major upheavals in life for the future: I don’t want to go and live on the other side of the world, but there will certainly be a natural evolution of things with Vale, a marriage and children ».
In the meantime he will become an uncle for the second time.
«It will be wonderful to relate to a granddaughter, also because I love children, many years ago I also took swimming lessons for non-floats. I foresee a lot of pampering for the child but even more pampering for Leo, who is in a beautiful moment: he speaks, asks, questions. I like him playing a lot: being an uncle is wonderful because it makes you have the best of the baby. When he was born I was healthy envious because I would really like to have a child to nurture and raise: that’s what I want most in life ».
And what do you think about Valentina?
«The last word belongs to you also because, as we have often said, the life that would change would be above all yours. When she feels ready, she will surely find me, but without forcing ahead. Now Vale is doing very well with his brand, I do my thing: it is a very happy moment in which perhaps it is right to stay focused on ourselves. We have a dog that takes a lot of energy away from us so, for now, let’s fret about him ».
