Developments in Ukraine were the main topic of discussion during a telephone conversation between Emanuel Macron and Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The French president spoke today with his counterparts from Turkey, South Africa, Senegal, Mauritania, Egypt, Algeria and the Union of the Comoros.
French diplomatic sources said that during the French president’s communication with his Turkish counterpart, it was found that the cooperation between France and Turkey aimed at achieving a ceasefire in Ukraine and the implementation of humanitarian measures for the civilian population, is strong. The two presidents also agreed that they would continue to work to resume operations to remove civilians from Mariupol.
Finally, French diplomatic sources said that bilateral relations between France and Turkey were also discussed and that the two presidents agreed to continue consultations on issues of common interest such as the Ukrainian issue and the situation in Libya.
