A 40-year-old woman was killed by her ex-partner, aged 52, on the night of last Saturday (18), in Colatina, in the interior of Espírito Santo. The victim’s sister reported to the police that the suspect committed the crime because he could not accept the end of the relationship.
The case occurred in the Riviera neighborhood. According to the Military Police, agents received information that a woman was killed in the region and that the suspect was at the scene of the crime.
During the police approach, when questioned about the death of his ex-partner, the man denied involvement in the crime and stated that she had been murdered by people linked to drug trafficking due to a debt.
However, the victim’s sister said that she had spoken to her via audio messages late Saturday morning. According to the family member, the man was the woman’s ex-partner and did not accept the end of the relationship.
In a new conversation with the suspect, he confessed to the crime and reported that he stabbed the woman and subsequently discarded the knife.
The case was registered at the Colatina Regional Police Station. The man was arrested for feminicide and sent to the prison system. The victim’s body was sent to the Regional Legal Medicine Section of the Scientific Police, to be autopsied and then released to family members.
