A 45-year-old man died after being struck by lightning in the city of Nova União (MG), in the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte, last Wednesday afternoon (13). According to witnesses, the victim was riding a motorcycle when he was hit.
According to the Fire Department, agents arrived at the scene and tried to revive the man, who was already in cardiorespiratory arrest. Resuscitation maneuvers were unsuccessful and he died at the scene.
The victim’s name was not released.
Rains in MG
Several regions of Minas Gerais were hit by heavy rain throughout the afternoon of last Wednesday (13). As Civil Defense reported, all nine regions of Belo Horizonte recorded rain.
The agency also informs that there is a possibility of rain showers in the capital of Minas Gerais, with lightning and wind gusts of around 50 km/h, until next Friday morning (15).
